The Wife of Noble Character

Proverbs 31: 10 ~ 31

Mothers Day

God gave us His word that we might know Him.  In every passage there is a message of hope and love.  Here in Proverbs we are speaking of a wife and mother.  This can be an individual woman or maybe the wife of God, the Jews, or the bride of Christ, the church.

1. wife of noble character is of great value to her husband

   a. God values His bride the church above all else

   b. God has confidence in the church

   c. bride w/out spot or blemish, may be plain to look at

   d. collectively and individually we are the church

2. this wife, cares for her own whether night or day

   a. the church will get its hands dirty working

   b. all members of the family have problems, all

   c. this bride is wearing combat boots

3. this wife has wealth find her in all she does

   a. she is shrewd in business blessed in all she puts hand to

   b. with her wealth the church gives to the poor & needy

   c. freely she receives & freely gives no fear of going broke

   d. wife, church, secure w/ tomorrow economy doesn’t matter

4. this wife is honored because of who her husband is

   a. God is praised because of the church obeying Him

   b. all that the church does lifts up & praises husband, God

   c. because church obeys Husband the Husband, God, has influence in the government

5.  1^st  the Jews & now the church is entrusted with God’s word

   a. we are the ones who lift up the bible & proclaim its truth

   b. to honor the word of God is to honor the author

   c. the churches devotion to the Lord is what brings her praise

   d. individually and collectively

There are no perfect wives or mothers, not even mine.  There are no perfect churches, not even this one. But they have noble character when their life is focused upon praising God.  Are you a person of noble character?
