What Jesus Needs

Luke 19:29~44

We often think of Jesus as needing nothing, for He is God. What Jesus needs are those things which help us know Him.

1. what does Jesus need to enter Jerusalem

   a. John 7:3-10 not yet His time

       1. secrecy not to make a show yet had message to tell

       2. God’s time is not always ours

   b. colt & donkey to fulfill prophecy/ right time  Zech. 9:9

       1. owner had to be willing to give

       2. disciples had to be willing to do as told

2. people needed to respond to gather

   a. did colt owner tell them/ they new prophecy

   b. people laid cloaks and palm branches

   c. worship & praise of God needed

   d.  crowd declares Jesus King/ shouts of joy fill air  

3. religious unhappy with all they see and hear

   a. rocks cry out if people silent/dumber than a box of rocks

   b. rocks will praise by reflecting God’s glory like tapes

4. Jesus needs to express love

   a. weeps over Jerusalem for what is coming

   b. truth hidden from rulers~ their will

   c. all because of their rejection of Jesus

5. There was no doubt in what Jesus was doing or saying. 

   a. people knew prophecy of King entering Jerusalem on colt

   b. next day entered temple & drove out the merchants

   c. in temple Jesus taught, healed sick, the blind and the lame

 There was no doubt that Jesus was declaring~ He is the Christ the one and only Son of God.  He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus the only wise God.                         

Jesus needs for you to respond to who He is.  The right time is now.  We can see the prophecies have been fulfilled.  Will you honor Him with the praise and worship that He deserves? Don’t be like the religious leaders who were willingly ignorant.  The more miracles they saw the madder they got.  They even wanted to kill Lazarus again. Dumber than box of rocks.

You need to believe to act upon it. Praise the name of Jesus
