Genesis 3:1

1. in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth

    a. Creation is more than that which is seen

    b. there is a spiritual realm where heaven and hell exist

    c.  spiritual realm inhabited by created beings called angels

    d. archangels, angels, cherubim, seraphim that we know of

2.  something happened to a group of angels

   a. angel called Lucifer or Satan wanted worshipped like God

   b. angels which followed him are called demons/evil spirits

   c. they are all liars and the truth is not in them

3. Genesis 1:28 God gave rule of the earth to Adam

   a. God’s word is sure He doesn’t change it

   b. God did not remove Satan’s power when he rejected God

   c. Adam and Eve sinned God didn’t remove rule of the earth

   d. Satan now had a door open in their lives to work thru

4.  In a star trek movie Spock refers to this as an ancient myth

   a. re: the Sadducees, deny resurrection as some do today

   b. have you heard said when you die that’s it, evolution

   c. other extreme people worshipping devil

5. Jesus is difficult for the skeptics to explain

   a. Jesus is either God in the flesh or He a liar

   b. no one has ever been able to show Him a liar or a sinner

6. Jesus was tempted of the devil to disbelieve God

   a. Jesus resisted the devil and the devil had to flee from Him

   b. but as James 4:7 says  Jesus submitted unto God the Father

7.  do not be deceived the devil is real he wants you destroyed

   a. he will seek to make you doubt God or doubt the he is real

   b. if you don’t face the reality of demonic spirits you won’t resist them and Adam and Eve have already opened the door

8.  Mark 5: 10 – 14 re: a man called legion and a herd of pigs

   a. thousands of demons couldn’t keep him from Jesus

   b. demons wanted physical bodies to inhabit and Jesus granted them the pigs

9. When you’re born again the Holy Spirit dwells in you

   a. re: greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world

   b. demons may laugh at us but they must bow to Christ in us

   c. one thing that upsets them is praise & worship of God

The devil is very real.  He is a created spiritual being, who desired the worship that belongs to God only.  Normally people do not see demons or spirits of any kind, but they are around.  Occasionally they do get seen. Has anyone ever seen a ghost? Do not be afraid of them.  Fill your life with the love of God for perfect love casteth out all fear.  No demon can stop you from worshipping God.  Your praise and worship of God will drive demons away. So in all that you do do it to the glory of God.
