Genesis 1 And God Said:

Words are an important aspect of our lives.  With words we bless God and with words we curse men made in the image of God. Words have power and authority in them.  What you are listening to today is the use of words to explain the truths of God. It is the use of words, God’s word, that builds faith.  Without words I would have a difficult time expressing God’s great love for you.

1. In the beginning God used words to create

  A. everything that is both seen and unseen were created by the use of words

  c. He did not lie nor did He doubt when God spoke it happened just as He said

  D. nothing has changed -God’s word will accomplish what He intended- it will not return to Him empty or void

2.  From the beginning God saw the end Isaiah 46:10

   a. Romans 4:17 God calls things that are not as though they were

   b. God found a coward hiding behind a winepress and said Gideon you are a mighty man of valor

   c. God looked at an old man and woman way beyond child bearing age and said Abram you are now Abraham the father of many nations

   d. He looked at Peter, James and John and said come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.

   E. every word that God speaks is true

3. God created man in His own image – by the use of words

  a. He did this that we might have fellowship with Him

  c. He wants to talk with us – and so called us to pray without ceasing

4. What does God say about you today?

  A. I Peter 2:9 you are, that is if you are in Christ - for the purpose

  b. Romans 3:21-22 you are righteous by faith if in Christ

  c. When God declares it it is so - we have to cooperate to act upon His word

  d. Do you have enough faith in God’s word to act upon it do you believe Him

5. Words are the communication of the thoughts and intent of the heart.

  a. Notice the words which God spoke are positive and full of faith

  b. His words express the love that is within Him

6. What are your words like - let’s look at Matthew 12:33-37

  A. what we have in our hearts is what we are going to speak

  B. what is in your heart - is it the love of God or something else

  D. if your heart is changed then your words will change

  e. Our only hope is Romans 10:9&10 - we must become a new creation

9.  Before the creation of the world God spoke a way for you to change- the cross of Jesus

  A. it is of no effect in your life unless you submit yourself unto God

  b. John 15:3 our hearts are made clean by the word of God

10.  When the word of God is within you what you will speak is the word of God

  A. when the word of God is spoken that word will accomplish what it was meant to do

  B. read the Word, study the Word, meditate on the Word, speak the Word

When you do these things you will begin acting upon the Word because faith will grow and you will get results just like God said you would. What kinds of words come out of your mouth?  Are you someone who actually believes the bible?  Do you speak your words like God does from the heart overflowing with love?  It is important what you say and how you say it.  Isn’t it time to believe God.  If your life is not in agreement with what God says of those who believe then today determine to make a change.  A good place to start is here, at the alter.
