Genesis 1

What God Created

It all goes back to God.  In the beginning God!  We start with God we end with God.  Through the scriptures  we are shown what God did.  This is written for our benefit that we might understand our world and most of all God.  It is all about God.

1.  God created heavens and the earth  Psalm 118:24

           a. something happened emptiness and darkness came

           b. some think this was during the fall of Satan and other angels

           c. Spirit of God hovered- protection an expression of love

           d. God doesn’t want the earth destroyed He has plans for it

2.  Day 1  Let there be light

           a. there was light over the whole earth

           b. no darkness can stand against light

           c. God radiates light it is His glory I John 1:5 

           d. Revelation 22:5 when all is complete darkness will be no more

           e. Habakkuk 2:14 the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God

3. day 2 God began to make distinctions between  the heavens and the earth

           a. God has a plan and a purpose Habakkuk 2:14

4. day 3 dry ground is formed

           a. God calls forth from the ground plants

           b. nourished by the light of the glory of God

           c. plants of all kinds that cover the earth- 

5. day 4  sun and the moon and the stars

          a. night and day are separated remember Genesis 1:2

          b, now darkness has a place yet not totally

          c. even in darkness of night there is now the light of moon and stars

          d. God has a purpose and a plan Habakkuk 2:14

6. day 5. birds, and fish and all kinds of water animals

          a. called them to be fruitful and increase in number

          b. they began at one spot not over all the earth

          c. God has a purpose and a plan Habakkuk 2:14

7. day 6 and the land produced living creatures

          a. livestock, and wild animals, those that move along the ground(bugs)

          b. God has a plan and a purpose Habakkuk 2::14

 8. on day 6 God created man-the plan is taking shape

          a. here is the object of His affection

          b. we are made in the image of God that the glory of God may shine thru us.

          c. creation is for us-we have dominion or rule over animals, the earth is ours to subdue that is to bring under control

 In all of creation both seen and unseen there is nothing like us.  We are made in the image of God. The radiance of  the glory of God shines through us.  All of creation looks at us and wonders.  Angels do not fully understand.  We are the central focus of creation so that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.  We are lifted up that God may receive the glory due unto Him.  Give praise unto the Lord for this is the day the Lord has made and the plan and purpose of God is being fulfilled. Let us together give praise unto God for all that He has done!
