In The Beginning

Genesis 1:1

There is a great deal of turmoil in our schools across the country about the origin of all things.  Some have their faith in evolution. They even believe that we descended from some form of ape or monkey.  As you listen to them speak their wisdom and logic has a strong resemblance to that of apes and monkeys and then look at their appearance. If it was not for one thing, and that is truth, they might be believable.

1. Were any of you here at the time of creation? 

    a. Job 38: 4 God asks this of Job and of you

    b. just where does your understanding of yesterday come from

        1) Records of those who were there – history books

         2)  Who besides God was there at the beginning?

2.  Do not be misled; what you think about the origin of all things is a statement of faith.

    a. Hebrews 11:3 by faith we know God created

    b. by faith men reject God and seek to establish an alternative origin

3.  Everything that is seen or unseen God created

    a. that is the physical and spiritual worlds

    b. created by Him and for Him for His pleasure Colossians 1:16

4. In Isaiah 45:18 God created heavens and the earth to be inhabited

    a. there was a purpose in the creation of the earth

    b. the earth was created for us we are not parasites on this planet

    c. God designed us to be the objects of His love, can accept or reject it

5. The first chapter of Genesis repeats the phrase “and God saw that it was good.”

    a. all of creation was good, something happened along the way

6. Ezekiel 28:13 & 15 Satan is described as a created being

    a. he is not the equal of God, he isn’t even close

    b. Satan is called an anointed cherub and the earth was part of his responsibility

    c. iniquity was found in him – he wanted the adoration that belongs only to God

    d. Romans 1:25 deceived by Satan men worship the creation rather than the creator

    e. so as not to have God in their thoughts men cling to the theory of evolution

7. Revelation 4:11 God is worthy to receive glory because He alone is the creator

   a. because sin has tarnished creation God is going to redo creation Isaiah 65:17

   b. Jesus came to showing how it is going to be done

   c. II Corinthians 5:17 we become a new creation in Christ Jesus

   d. Ephesians 4:24 it is a new man created in righteousness & holiness

  God comes to ;us, taking away the deceptions, by the cross of Jesus Christ.  All who believe on Him become a new creation.  God will complete this makeover of creation when Jesus returns.  Have you chosen to accept the truth and become a new creation or do you reject God and believe a lie.  Now is the time to follow truth.  If you would like to follow the truth you can by faith become a new creation in Christ Jesus.
